    Weekly petrol prices

    The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose to 136.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 29, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.

    The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 9.7¢ to 137.1¢ a litre, with the regional price up 7.3¢ to 134.8¢ a litre.

    The most expensive fuel in the country was in Queensland at 138.8¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (137.5¢), Victoria (137.4¢), NSW/ACT (137¢), the Northern Territory (134.3¢), South Australia (131.5¢) and Western Australia (130.9¢).

    Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 130.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (131.6¢), Darwin (132.2¢), Hobart (136.7¢), Sydney (137.7¢), Melbourne (138.7¢), Canberra (138.8¢) and Brisbane (141.0¢).
