Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 2.4¢ to 146.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 17, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.8¢ to 144¢ a litre, with the regional price down 1.4¢ to 151.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 181.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (158¢), WA (156.7¢), QLD (153.3¢), SA (151.4¢), NSW/ACT (150.3¢) and Victoria (147.2¢).

Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 141.3¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (142.7¢), Brisbane (143.6¢), Adelaide (143.8¢), Perth (148.5¢), Canberra (155.1¢), Darwin (155.5¢) and Hobart (157.9¢).
